At first i thought it may of been a change of food but i have put him back on the one he normally has and 2 mornings in a row the crate has been covered good job us women have strong stomachs. He has slept all morning which is not like him at all. Because my two dogs sleep in the same crate it was hard to distinguish which one it is thats ill. Seperated them all morning and when i've waited for one of them to do from the top or bottom end they haven't. Sorry to of gone on but i have never had him ill like this before.

poor u and ur dogs. i no how hard it can be seeing them so ill. I would seperate them at night if possible so u can tell which one it is. I would still take him to the vets to get him checked over. let us know what happens! Maddie

Hi Andrea , i would starve him or them ? but only for 12 hrs and see how they are ( but if they look realy ill get the vet straight away ) you have to watch they don't get dehydrated ( so keep plenty of water available ) if they look ok then give them some natural live organic yoghurt , if a bug it will usually pass in 24/48 hrs anyway , but again any sign of blood get a vet as it could be gastro ? just try a tiny amount of , chicken , scrambled egg etc for a few meals with about a tablespoon of the yoghurt each time up to about four times a day , but if your instincts say they aren't right , then at least ring a vet for advise first , another thing for upset tummies is slippery elm , a friend who has working labs swears by it .

Thanks for all your advice. I kept him off food yesterday and only gave him water. I also seperated them both last night. I did phone the vets and was just advised to starve him and if he was no better today then i was to take him to be checked. Luckily this morning he hadn't done anything so hopefully its passed fingers crossed.

a good remedy for the trots is arrowroot it stops the tom tits but i would starve them at least 12 hours too and any sign of blood don't hesitate also glucose water is good for energy to keep them hydrated and upset tummy

diarrhea and sickness in dogs could be due to a number of things ..you don't mention how old your dog is .i know in young dog they can dehydrate fast and could end up needing fluids by drip ..i wouldn't leave it Hun contact your vet asap ..it might be nothing but id check anyway ..its a good idea to keep your dogs separate if its a bug causing your dog to be ill the others might catch it too ...good luck hope this helps

hello i take it your dog is vaccinated as parvo and gastro have the same symptoms,if so put some diaoralite in the drinking water also give plain live yogurt, starve your dog for a day just give the live yogurt and dioralite water, then boil a little rice and add chicken and hopefully your little dog will be back on track.

Rocky is now 8 months old and ruby is coming up to 7 months old. They have both had their vaccinations up to date. Rocky is alot better. Ruby was sick yesterday but hasn't been sick since.
