to block it off it needs removing and a gasket made from something strong i have seen one cut out of a tin lid and some gasket seal applied

Have blocked one off on a 1995 pajero, lots of owners do, you can buy a special plate for the pajero, but a thin piece of metal cut to shape would do. My escort RS 2000 has the egr removed and the manifold plugged, (holes welded) helps the escort get rid of spent gasses quicker,has no effect on the mot, as the engine is hot when an emission test is carried out.

just make up a blanking plate ,if the glow plug lights comes on afterwards drill a 5mm hole it the plate it will fool the maf into thinking everything is allright
