oh thats close it could be anyday now if you feel to the bottom of her tummy they will be right at the bottom and engaged if she is to have them early and they normally loose slimey stuff before hand. they can grow to around 10 inch for the toys but he was very small at birth so don't think he will get very big at all what a character he has though

if she has no spare skin and it is solid all the way to her bits then they are engaged and ready to come any day, want pics when they arrive,if you think poodles are dainty you should see italian greyhounds my friend has them they are like china dolls, don't have any white poodles my mum does i have black blue/grey and chocolate i have bred my little white princess this year she should be due in october and yes they do have papers for those who have asked earlier not that it matters one dot to me it won't inflate thier price she has a ginger boyfriend dying to see what colours they produce she is a pomeranian

angel1 : what is wrong with pet only?? as long as theyre healthy and loved.. as long as they have had all the health checks and so has the male. as long as the breeder does everything in their power to bring them up right. angel isnt kc reg but if she is pregnant her pups are due around the 12th october. how can you call us a backyard breeder after a quick buck.. if we do things right there isnt gonna be much of a profit anways. im doing it for the joy of puppies and because angel has had false pregnancies and has even when not going through a false pregnancy has tried to nurse my younger dog and even teddies. i will be selling my pups as pet only but they will not go to just anyone and i doubt i will make any profit after all i plan to buy and do for angel and the pups. besides if there was any profit ill be spending it on angel and pups. angel is the one doing the work she deserves any profit (if any)

shrike : i never said that at all.. you asked what the solution is and there really isnt one.. we can all work our butts of for those dogs we can get them new happy homes but that wont stop the next batch coming in and no its not coz of breeders its because of idiotic people who give up on dogs when the novelty wears off or they become too much work... that will never end because you cant change people. they will always be scum. i did not say we should give up at all

i think everyone should sit 2 tests before owning a dog... first test on general dog care and second test on the breed they choose to own.. then i think their should be a test before you breed ect.. that way can make sure everyone is doing their research at least

right im not being funny shrike yeh and not trying to cause rows but no-one said you dont know what your talking about... but not everyone has to agree with you ok... and i dont know who you think you are saying most of us on this site dont give a damn about our pets because of the species we choose to own or because we choose to breed from our dogs because i can tell ya now ive been on this forum a while now and i know almost everyone on here is great. a few of my fave members being nobby... poodle mad female.. minxii.. nataliee.. there is loads and yes they all DO love there animals as do i.. you have no judgment to tell us we dont care just because you dont agree with us ok.. its called an opinion and your opinion is not the only opinion.. im really sorry if i seemed short or stroppy in this reply but to be honest that because i am kinda pissed off at that comment because i do love my babies their the only thing keeping me here right now and if i choose to breed my dog or i choose to own a monkey then that is my business ok and im not cruel for it. you are not the only animal lover around here

i dont think the show ring is cruel but some of the owners can be they get very competiive and will scare other dogs in the ring or put substances on your dog to get you disqualified.. i would quite like a show dog when i get more confidence and stuff but i wouldnt get competitive .. it would just be for fun. :)
but like you poodle mad i would much prefer my pups went to the best possible home even if that meant they never went to crufts :)

In answer to Angels posts - what has paperwork got to do with anything? The KC just confirms you are a member of a club. The person i bought my pup from had KC reg pups. She bred from them constantly and got away with it by not registering every litter, and the dogs were kept in outside stables stuffed with sawdust! I am sure this goes on everywhere. The only reason i took on that pup was to get her out of there as fast as possible! KC papers mean nothing to me, personally as i am not interested in showing my dogs nor breeding them on a regular basis. My girl is a pedigree, i am breeding her and it will improve her line - whether we have KC reg or not. I would not call myself a backyard breeder as its not something i do regularly for profit - this is a one off, with two amazing dogs, to produce equally amazing pups - one of which i would like to keep! Its a personal choice to breed my dog, and my responsibility to ensure it all goes well. Shrike, i agree with your points about animal cruelty/rehoming etc. I feel i've done my part by being aware and keeping animals which otherwise would be pts by rescue centres. I cannot take on every animal i see which touches my heart - its a lovely idea, but not practical! Pet licenses would only allow people to own animals who can afford licenses - again, people who dont have a huge income would then not have the opportunity to own these amazing animals. I've sed it before - money does not necessarily mean they will be well looked after, nor does a license! How many people do you know who can drive, but not particularly well or responsibly? A license does not ensure anything. An awareness test sounds like a good idea, to prove they understand the breed they are taking on and it's requirements etc. At least then it will ensure that they know the basics, but still, the rest is up to that particular owner.
