I have just read a story on the BBC about a south african Rotweiler that saved a 2 year old boys life from an attacking dog. I thought the press would gloss over this oportunity to promote rotweilers but i am pleasently suprised.

Awww! lovely pic - is that a bassett too? I love rotties, like someone sed already - i would suppose it would be how they are brought up and socialised, as to how they react to certain situations. Have always thought they are gorgeous dogs, personally!

As already said its how the dog is treated to how it behaves. Ive a 10 month old boy at the minute and he is a big wuss, loves nothing better than cuddles. years ago I had a bitch Heidi RIP she adored kittens puppys kids anything she was gorgeous.

Rotties are given a bad name cuz they are strong powerful dogs which people see and think yeah that wud be a gud guard dog !! So they are bought up to be visious and protect thats y people are scared off them !!!
But not all rotties are guard dogs !!!!!!!! Make wonderful pets nice and cuddely lol
My friend has 2 rotties and a jack russel and im more scared of the jack russel as its an ankle biter lol bless xxx

Give me a Rottie any day, i dont trust the smaller dogs, the times when i was a kid on my paper round my ankles suffered due to snapping terriers.LOL kinda funny looking back.
