Perhaps the best thing is, you should stay at home if you can find nothing in wales you like?

hey, thats a bit mean!! Wales is great if you know where to look, the Peninsula is breath taking, Cardiff is fantastic for shopping and beats dirty old London Town, the remoteness of the Breacons is brilliant for walking but how relaxing is that?? Rugby and football are sit down events - I am a woman! Don't even live in Wales just 13 miles away from the border, but would recommend a visit anytime!

I beg to differ too :-)

I've just placed an ad on here for my static caravan (available to hire) which is in Barmouth, North Wales.

There's plenty of opportunity for rest and relaxation. You don't have to be a walker, mountaineer, pony trekker if you don't feel like/aren't up to it !

I love Wales but I hate walking, so just goes to prove there are other things to do there. The scenery is breathtaking in both North and South, but I did find the North Wales people a bit unfriendly. In fact, some of them were downright rude, as soon as we went into a shop they would eye us up and then change from speaking in English to speaking in Welsh. But hopefully they were in a minority! There are some great castles in Wales, kids love exploring them, the beaches are mainly good too. Years ago I went to Rhyl and it was lovely but when we went back there last year I couldn't believe how it had deteriorated. We stayed on Anglesey last summer and that was good, rented a converted barn, right next to the beach. Weather wasn't wonderful and for the price we paid we could probably have gone abroad, but we still had a good time. Incidentally, just to let all you Welsh people know - on holiday abroad recently I met some Americans who didn't realise that Wales was a different country to England! Don't worry, I soon put them right - and no, I am not Welsh.

Hello ann :-) Unfortunately I don't have any vacancies now for the rest of the holiday season. However, if you would like to contact the Holiday Park owners on 01341 280597, they have several caravans which they let out and I'm sure they'll be able to help you.

Good luck !

We love Barmouth. So much to see and do. We love the area and stay in our motorhome at Tally-bont. We enjoy walking, sight seeing, and never tire of the shops there. Love the welsh accent spoken in english. Love the beach and the naturist part to the north (we have been naturists 30 years. yes a great place to holiday

We were at Llanaber last weekend hoping to go to the Talybont Fun Day, but the weather was soooooooooo bad we ended up staying in the caravan most of the time.

Such a shame when people have worked and planned for this type of event only to have it RUINED by the weather - and it's happened such a lot over the past couple of years.

Barmouth seem to have given up holding their Fun Day :-(

We visited Snowdonia in September. I can't say I was overly impressed. Not much in the way of pretty villages. Mind you, I live in Cornwall, so I'm spoilt for pretty villages really!!!

Hi Dawn

Lovely to hear from you and thank you so much for contacting me. My husband and I (son too, when he is home - working in Liverpool at the moment after graduating) live in between the north shore and the west shore, so it is convenient for town, etc. We don't have a bed and breakfast establishment as such, but love to have guests from time to time. Two french boys are staying with us soon as they are coming over to improve their english and gain work experience.

When would you be thinking of coming? You would be welcome to stay as part of the family as it were, and just `muck in'. You could join us for breakfast of juice, cereal, toast, and tea/coffee, etc, and have a meal at night with us if you would like, and the charge would be just £35 per day, not each - it would be for the two of you. You could sleep in the spare bedroom, and your son in my son's room while he is away.

Let me know what you think.

Kind regards

Linda
