hi my sister has managed to crunch her ax 1.1 sump and although we know we have to change this, at the same time the gear lever appears to be stuck? the damage to the sump is on the o/s but the gear linkage is on the n/s, is this a differant problem or could there be a connection?
please help.
thanx

hi

the base of the gear connecting rods is in the center of the car
depending how far she drove over the curb she may have grounded them too? or worsh when sh eclonked the sump it moved the engine and box and damaged an engine mount so the whole lot is not ligned up right, causing the gear rods and levers to be out of alignment.

anyway regardless of how, she need to fix this

get the car up in the air, ramps axel stands (Not a pile of bricks or a jack) ! and look at the linkages disconnect them at a join and then see if the rods to the box move or the ones from the shifter then depending on which is ok then proceed from there or re post answer for more advice.

Hope all goes well with this

Al
