HELP! BIG xantia problem !!!

my 1997 td xantia is leaking lhm fluid from the suspension pump big time! i noticed a load had leaked out when i finished work today, i topped it up with the rest of the bottle and fingers crossed, tried to get home from work! anyway a mile down the road the stop light came on and the car lowered itself down. steering went. luckily managed to stop at a mates house .

its been playing up a bit before now, but nothing like today, as i say its leaking from the pump onto the alternator. when i top it up the pump will work sometimes then not others. its possible i may have overfilled the resevoir with lhm fluid, might this have caused too much pressure and blown a gasket?

if i can pick up a pump cheaply is it worth getting one and replacing it, any help appreciated

I had the same problem with my Xantia,although not as severe as yours. Mine was leaking onto the alternator,it was leaking at one of the pipe connections on top of the pump. Try to find out exactly where the leak is as mine was cured by simply undoing the connection and putting some sealant around the threads, it's still ok two years later,but the oil getting into the alternator ruined it and it cost me a new alternator and battery.
