after listerning to 3 different expers tell me that the fault was in the bsi unit and a main dealer saying it was the com2000 unit (indicator and washer stalks) it turned out to be 2 broken can wires just down from the fuse box under the bonnet. luckily i found them before any new parts were fitted so it didnt cost me anything apart from time. i would have been sick as a parrot if i had found them after a £600 hadn't cured the fault! i think the lesson here is peugeot/citroen cars have electrical problems like any other car, but because there has been problems with the bsi units they are to readilly blamed for faults. look for the traditional faults (breaks in wiring, earth faults, fuzes, bulbs ancillery componants) before blaming ecu's and getting into expensive repairs that may not be nessesary. good luck !
