Hi, I have recently bought a C5 and the engine under tray is missing. Can any tell me the effects of not having one might be or is it ok not to have one. Thanks

It's primarily to reduce the noise of the engine a bit really but it wont do any harm if it's not there.

Thanks for your reply, Is it likely that road dirt, water etc would damage enginen components etc. Thanks

I lost the tray on my Xantia,Citroen told me I would get water in the engine etc and wanted £200+ for a new one.I checked with a local Citroen specialist and he told me it wasn't needed.It's been running for 5 years with no problem. Over £200 for a piece of cardboard !!!

Sorry for the slow reply but as I agree completely with the other poster, no harm will be done without it and it makes it easier to trace any water or oil leaks that might occur over time.
