Berlingo clutch pedal

Berlingo clutch pedal

Hello I have just got a 2001 1.9 diesel berlingo multispace the clutch pedal is very stiff compared to my other cars is this normal or could there be a problem.

My berlingo van clutch pedal is also stiff. I also noticed this compared to other cars and vans i have driven. I actually oiled my cable by removing it from the gearbox side and spraying plenty of WD40 (with tube) and then easing oil. Although the pedal feels smooth it is still stiffer than other vehicles.
