i have a xantia 2.0 hdi will not start feels live fuel starvation ,i need some help with location of fuel pump,stop valve ,and information on how to check if air is getting into fuel line and how to check if water has got in i am a complete novice with a diesel car ,in spain and don·t have access to a haynes manual, i would be really grateful for any help and advice.

I would start with the easy stuff first and see if the electric low pressure fuel pump is actually delivering fuel to the fuel filter first before doing anything else.
You could simply disconnect the fuel feed pipe to the engine and just briefly turn the key to position 2 for a couple of seconds, there should be fuel coming out.
