C5 Radio Volume

I have a C5 and the volume on the radio keeps getting louder and louder with out touching any controls, when you turn it down the volume goes up on it's own. This problem happens when the car is moving and parked.
Any advice?

are you leaving the engine running?
the radio system automatically increases the volume as engine noise increases.
not heard of your problem before, had 3 c5s.

Thanks for reply.
This fault happens when engine is running and also when is not running.
