These are quite a high torque setting, I would renew them anyway, if even one snaps off whilst tightening them back up, your in mega doo doo. If this happened on a car this age the cost to fix would be then prohibative. This is the XUD9 engine, the manifold is a bu**er to remove in situ as the bolts are really in accesable, suggest you remove head and manifold /turbo as one unit, and separate as necessary on the bench. I have done several of these and as yet not needed to skim a head. Up to you! - check the head face with the old steel rule etc, and take a chance and refit after just a good clean up. or strip it all down and have it machined, depends on how much you want to spend, or if you want to take this chance, and risk having to do the whole job again?
