ZX TD 1994 INJECTOR REPLACEMENT

when I start the car from cold it will turn over and start and will ilde fine for a couple of minutes. As the engine gets warm it will labour until eventually it cuts out. If i drive it from cold I can get about half a mile before it dies out. I have checked that fuel is reaching the pump by removing each fuel line and all seems well. I have also undone each line from the pump. Fuel pumps out from the first line and the engine struggles to keep running and starts to smoke badly. I do the same with the second with the same result. However when I loosen the 3rd and 4th line the engine remains the same i.e just idling. Someone suggested I need to replace the 3rd and 4th injectors if this happens. Is any of you guys familiar with this suggestion. I want to avoid removing and buying them from the scrappy if this sounds wrong. Sorry for the poor terminology but I'm no mechanic. Cheers.
