I had Ubuntu Linux 64 bit on CD free from http://www.ubuntu.com shipped plus free delivery and also server edition, but they can be downloaded too if you prefer, I had no problems running them on my Athlon 64 pc. Ubuntu even encourage you to give your copy to others for use and put in as many pc's as you like. I am very impressed with Linux, & open source too. With Windows 7 about to replace Vista already later this year a free operating system looks like a better alternative.

Good to hear from a fellow Linux user. I've been using for years now and have tried many different distro's including Ubuntu. Im currently using PCLOS on my main pc having replaced MS XP. I recently tried Mandriva 2009 but found it did not work so well on my PC hardware which is a 32bit Pentium 4. I have bought some cd/dvd's from suppliers and also downloaded a lot of Linux os'es over the years and first got interested when I bought my first distro at a computer fair years ago. Im not an expert by any means but continue to look for the ultimate distro for me. In short------I love it! Cheers.
