rain water coming in bottom of wooden door

there is no ledge at all. would it be vbest to : 1/ put a n angled piece of something to outside bottom of door. or put a piece of sloped beading to inside . but what about where the bolt goes into step? not sure what to do. also loads of condensation is dripping down on either side of doors are windows the woodwork is soaked now paint is peeling off.the wood seems to be soaking on bottom panels. shall i remove paint with ? then seal and repaint? not sure again please advise thanking you Gillian

It sounds like you have a real problem. Firstly how long have your doors been fitted, are they the sliding type or do they both open out onto your patio, or have you had them fitted so that they open inwards. To be perfectly honest, it would be better if you posted a few pictures so that I could see the problem. It could be as simple as running a bead of silicone along the bottom of the door to having to take them out and refitting them. There is not much you can do if the wood is wet as nothing will stick to it, so you would either have to wait until the weather dries up or blank off the doors to keep the weather out. The easiest way of finding out what the problem is is by getting out a local joiner to give you a price. While he is there ask him what caused the problem and how he is going to fix it. that way you will know what caused the problem and how to do the repair.
