i have some info for anyone whos unlucky to own one of these. 1st, you can avoid a wallet emptying incident by making sure the lid is properly secured over the relays and engine ecu and the air suspension control unit located under the bonnet in the top left hand corner in a plastic box. if its not, all the water runs off the windscreen straight into it, fills up, and corrodes the pins on these control units engine ecu and the air suspension, these two items will set you back over a thousand pounds, I saved the guy this, by repairing both of them despite m/ benz saying it couldnt be done, also make sure you remove the rubber grommet on the other side which is the inlet for the air con as this drain hole blocks up with debri, leaves etc, and then all the water goes in the car and shorts everything out behind the dash what a rubbish car and another thing all rear wheel drive cars especially mercs and bmw are useless in bad conditions do youself a favour and buy a audi cheaper better made more reliable and nicer to drive than any merc or bmw

ive driven one of those, very fast, great handling, very smooth, i drove for an airport parking outfit a while back, money was crap, but you get to drive some wicked motors apart from my favourite, audi, nissan micra is an excellent car , as are qaushki or whatever its called, , vw touran, vw passat,or golf, it seems to me if you want a good car these days its got to be german or swedish or japanese, french cars are crap all of em i would recommend taking a job if only to try all these cars out lot of fun .

I've seen this before with an old merc like this after the guy went through a car wash and the car wouldnt start again ecu flooded and shorted out with water ! All for the sake of a plastic lid being missing. Couldnt agree more about rear wheel drive in the snow being hopeless.

I used to debate the price difference with a friend of mine between a Passat and an A4 and to me at least there more or less the same car but the passat is cheaper. Dont get me wrong there is maybe some extra touches and other mods on the Audi but the question is, is it worth the money. You could maybe say the same about the A3 and the Golf in my opinion although I have to say I would like a nice A3 but oh boy are they dear ! Nope It's just the ancient old Saab 9000 for the moment lol !¬

Yeah the Octavia ! we get a few private hire guys in with these and they love them, funnily enough one of them is petrol turbo, funny spec for a taxi I thought but hey if he's happy. There certainly comfy enough and don't rust to any degree either.

Have to aggree with the rusting even with dents and scrapes not a sign or rust on the fabia. do wonder if better qaulity parts are used on the audie vw over the skoda though as it is suffering greatly at mo. needing lots of parts replaced. but dont know if audi and vws are the same. either way I dont like new cars for repairs lol.
