over the years been asked to fit loads of these, or worse, fix the wiring that someone else has bodged, heres a tip for you all, if you want to have a go ALWAYS wire these via a 12v relay I use vw 40amp relays cos they wont blow up ever, its very easy to do this job if you go about it right if you dont use a relay, you run the risk of burning out the dip/main beam switch and even the wiring too if anybody wants more detailed info email me rick.

Just to add to this post, whilst it's more of a pain to initially do it's always a far better installation if the car is at least partly wired for these already and you can make the effort to use the original wiring on the car.
A lot of cars are now pre-wired and it can be a case of an upgraded switch, relay, fuse and possibly a little change of the option for them in the computer if canbus is present.

but of course the spot lights wouldnt be on for long would they, so its not really an issue, and in any case they were switchable separately from main beam if required rick.
