You say it won't start, does the starter turn engine over or are you getting the sort of flat battery sounds ? So as you have replaced the battery I will assume for now that it is a new one and in full working order. Ok so your AX is getting on a bit, so being French electrical maladies will start to show up. with the battery still dis connected, mobe to the live cable and trace to where and clean all joins etc, there will also be a cable direct to the starter, same here undoo clean and replace. Now whilst your down the find the engine earth to body cable, normally a braided afair, check this carefully as where it is it can get very dirty and deteriorate. Replace battery and try again. let us know hos you get on, and anything else that may help us sort this problem for you.. AL
