Hi,

Yersturday i did the oil and filter and replaced the rear section of the exhaust, but yesturday after i had done these things the engine light came on, on the dash. It is due for MOT very soon.

Will it go through an MOT like this? and does anyone know what i can do to find out the problem??

I thinking you have most likley knock a sensor posibly on the exhaust check all your connections ect near area's you worked on. Is their any running problems ?
Not hundred percent on mot but think it should pass. Unlease its effecting your emisions.

theres no sensors on the exhaust in that area to knock. so i wouldnt worry about that, more likely to be somthing on the engine, it could be 1 of a thousand things. only way to find out is to have a diagnostic check done at a garage. it wont fail because the light is on, but it might fail if its affecting the emmisions

Thanks for the advice, i put it in for its MOT today and it failed on a few bits but nothing related to the engine light, which is good.

I am going to have to get it off though to sell it, on Mk3 fiestas they have a reset button under the dash, does anyone know of a way to reset it with paying to have a machine put on it and reseting it??
