You can never really tell on the hind nipples flapping as my sis does bull dogs and her girl started to change on the back two nipples and she was sure it was a pregnancy but when she was scanned at 4 weeks there was nothing there it was just the bitch matureing after yet another season so dont get your hopes up like my sis did also. From 3-4 weeks you should be able to hear heartbeats in the tummy even if pups are in the ribs still. The vet cant always tell at four weeks either depends on the dog and the way it carries,a scan is always the best bet for a defo diagnosis.Its about 30-40 quid....Good luck.

Karen and Booboos your Staffie's are adorable. I had a Staffie Bruno he died aged 11, 2 1/2 years ago. I miss him so much. I have my two borders now and love them to bits but wish I had got another Staffie. They are one of the best ever breeds in my eyes. My Bruno used to lie with my granddaughter when she was little and followed her everywhere. He adored her.

hi karen,
if you go back to the start of these posts, there's week by week pics of my dog rio trough out her pregnancy, she had 7 pups bless her.

hi yes ave done that thanks .ive took blue fo
r a scan today and the vest not sure so i ve got to take her back next week for a rescan ...i am right feed up i thought they would have none ?and it cost me £40.00.

hey thanks staffys are one of the best dogs ...we lost one of our staffy girls 8 mounths ago at the age of 12 years thats why we got deffa .i still miss her loads and so did blue thats why deffas with us now.

sorry for your loss karren, one of my dogs ate something dodgy the other day and kept shaking, i was worried sick that she was going to die, kept having to stop myself from panicking. i dont know how i will cope when i loose one of mine, think i might have a breakdown. did you have another scan done? how frustrating tat they couldnt tell!
