Try Ambergate Caravans for replacement washers. They do sometimes come loose and if the user isn't careful they can be lost or distorted, thus causing leakage. It would also be worth checking that the hose clips are tight. Good Luck. Cathy
You obviously were supplied with a razor adaptor (two pins only connected) and only suitable for items that are double insulated. Yes, these plugs are marked 'Not for use in the UK'. If you look at the pictures I posted you will see the difference. The adaptors I use are marked for use with 13 amp appliances, they do have the earth (ground) connection and my caravan electrical people have passed them as OK several times during the annual service. Also, they are not marked in any way restricting their use in the UK. If you look at your fitted caravan sockets you will see matching spring contacts that mate with the plug metal strips. The spring contacts are connected to the earth (ground) wiring of the caravan. You can easily make up a test connection WHEN YOU ARE NOT CONNECTED TO THE MAIN 230v supply in any way. You may also note a small hole in the plug that can accommodate the round earth (ground) pin found on some continental sockets. Behind the hole are the round, sprung contacts that are connected to the main caravan earth (ground) circuitry. Why don't you buy a couple of the complete assemblies from CPC and try them out - they work well. You may have noticed that many small electrical computer products have a small power supply unit that plugs in to the UK 13 amp sockets. If you look at a few of them, many have a plastic earth pin - no connection with the circuitry in any way. The unit is double insulated and doesn't require an earth (ground) connection. Cathy
Thank you for taking thre time to sort out my query, much appreciated. I have ordered four which is adequate for my needs & to reduce cost. Others interested should note that CPC add a healthy handling charge plus VAT which nearly doubled the cost. The handling charges would have been the same though, if I had ordered twice the amount. As the old Hobby Owners Club disappeared into the ether, we decided to buy the domain to stop any speculative types buying it. It's not the old forum, but a new one to discuss anything Hobby, places to stay, tech info, etc.. Not wishing to drive any traffic from this site, but would love anyone with an interest in the Hobby to sign up ! hobby-owners-club.co.uk - thanks !

Been away from this forum for some time. Cranham Caravans on the A127/ M25 (junc 29) sell a replacement U.K. inner section for the Hobby electric sockets. Unclip the outer frame, remove the holding screws and wire terminals to remove original German Schuko socket and fit U.K. 3 pin socket. They were about £7 each. Made by the original socket manufacturers Berker. Cranham use them to modify the Hobby motorvans they sell.

Could you email the generalised HOBBY wiring diagram to me at [Log in to view email] I am fitting a charger to my 560ufe so this would help a lot thanks. Cheers Dave
thamk you Frankie Howard.
Although you can still save money on buying directly from Germany, it isn't as much as in years gone by. The Euro is currently worth about 80+ pence - when it first appeared, it was worth about 58 pence when exchanging, say, £10000. You do, of course, get the chance of a good holiday in Germany whilst you try out the van. Take care in any dealings with UK suppliers - some have not been as helpful as they should have been! Cathy
