Depends on the heat pad, I use a small one, that you can buy in most chemists, people use them for instread of hot water bottles, mine if filled with grains of wheat or something, and takes, 3 min to heat, once uit cools, you if you haven't finished the head, take it out and re~heat it.
I usually put it in, then to hold it in place, pad something in behind it, so it stays next to the part you are rooting.
Be carefull with hot, pad, when you remove it from the micr wave, and check the instructions on yours for heating times.
love dallydaft, xx

Ps, dollydaft, is a nickname my husband gave me years ago, because I make and collect dolls......(men.) hehe

Whichever is easiest for you hunny, it's still a fairly new art form, so most people have their own wee tecniques and ways.
Personaly, I find the pad keeps the head warm for longer.
To be honest, I've never had any problem using a heat pad.
Did you know, the very first reborn doll, was made in around the year 2000, by an american woman, who reborned an old play doll, I think it was. Anyway, this dolls realism, hit ebay, by storm and a whole new art for was born.

The photo, is of the second reborn, I ever created. I made her a little over 2 years ago, she is going to be adopted by a friend of mine, and my friend will be naming her Lolly. Unfortunatly, she has white blonde hair, which does not show up on camera, and I am not pc know how enough, to adjust or fix the picture.

Hunny securely glue it on the inside.
Use waterproof, glue, I use E~6000, some people use tacky glue, both can be bought quite cheaply on ebay.
The glue needs to be strong glue, to stop the hair falling out, if it's gently dampened and brushed.

No hunny, I don't think you are stupid, I taught myself to reborn, innitialy, because as a sole carer, I wanted one, but couldn't afford one, so I researched, and eventually, through trial and error, I made my first reborn, (then loved creating it so much, I kept making more.)

Sweetheart, in order to learn, you need to ask questions, don't apologise, for having the sense, to ask for help.

xx

I root both eyelashes and eyebrows, just so all match the hair, but some people paint the eyebrows, and you can but eyelashes that glue on.

Hello Joy

Nice to "meet" you, ..................well sort of, hehe.
I live in Scotland, and I think Ellie~May is in England, and I'm not sure where Lynn lives.
I reborn for the fun of it, and as a sole carer, it's something I can do, from home, that gives me some selfish time to myself.
You are right you know, it's addictive.
Your reborns are so sweet, and very lifelike.
I laugh at my friend, when she visits, if I give a doll tears, she says she feels like picking it up, to comfort it. Some people eh.
With me, its a hobby, I really enjoy.

There is a site called Simply Reborn based in the UK which offer online classes, I am doing this at the moment. The lessons are superb and the member help is second to none. They can tell you all you need to know. I think the online lessons are £35 for the first year and then £5 a year thereafter. Hope this helps
