hi,i love working with acrylic no ned to heat ,just do small aerier at time though cos does dry quick ,Always use good one not to cheap as the cheap dont stay on,i leave mine a few days with fist coating then i wash gently the next day with warm water to see that it has set well,im probably the only one that dare do this, lol,i mix paint with small amount of water get sponge and dab in mixed paint then dab hard on kitchen paper till almost off the sponge then dab quite hard and quick on the doll small parts at a time ,Do take your time ,use a light creamy shade for first coat, them build up over a few days, this works well for me not every one will like this way,You will find your own way in time just enjoy and play,Oh do take care with ant heat setting paint vinyl is very toxic when heated can be dangerous in house if you breath it in ,I dont like to heat then cos of this ,hope this is of help, feel free to ask more.

Hard to explain, real hair does not grow in neat streight lines, I put the first few hairs in roughly where the crown should be and carefully root untill the heir is a thickness I want. In our family, most babies are born with visable hair. I have attached a pic of Mhairi's hair.

Real babys rarely sit nice, or have perfect hair, so I like my creations, to reflect this with slightly messy hair. (If i want it tidy, I can always dampen and gently brush.) After all this is about realism, not perfection.

Hey Lynn, you will make beutiful reborns, and I for one, cant wait to see them. It just takes time, and patience. You will find that with every doll you make you will improve each one more real than the last, enjoy it, have fun with it, and allow yourself to be creative.
Think of your vinyl, as your blank canvass, and add the colou hair etc, and turn it into a unique realistic, lifelike doll.

I also micro root eyebrows and eyelashes. Say hi to a cheeky creation, this my dear, is wee Bobby, he is 24 inches long.

HI lyne has any one told you about the size needles and the amount of hair you hold at the time of rooting ,If you want very fine hair so hardly there use 42 gauge needles and just hold small amount of hair this will root one thread of hair a time takes days to complete a head this way but looks so life like,To do thicker has use 36 /38 and hold thicke peices of hair this will root proble around 3/4 threads of hair giving you thicker head of hair, showing you pic here of one with thicker hair,i will send more with baby thin hair.Elli~May.ps if you want free help type google search bar reborn help you will see lots of free vidoes how to reborn.

Hi there, I am a reborner and just thought I would say hello. Have you ladies thought about joining a reborning forum? They are very helpful and the ladies are all so friendly. If any of you would be interested, just give me a shout and I will point you in the right direction.

Hi Lyn,

There are a few good forums, but I would reccommend tinkerbells forum because its great for newcomers and well know artists aswell. There will always be someone there to answer any questions. They are a great bunch of girls too.
Just go on the website below and click on the forum, you will need to register but it easy.
I will look out for you on there, and have a chat.
My id on the forum is littlebeau
See you there then.
