i dont think it's common, but it's easy to fix, let your local tyre place break the bead on the side next to the valve, and fit a new valve for about £2 no need to re-balance, unless you want too

hi

Tommys right, even if they have to remove the tyre, they mark the tyre and rim so thy line up and re balancing not required. As I use the same garage for tyres and MOT's etc they did it free.

ok cool. max you should get charged is £5. but if, tyre has any flaws or less than 3mm of tread they might not do it. (due to insurance)

The valve had probably just come lose. They screw in, even though you cant see no thread on it.

The garage should do it for free.... But as its a recession will probably charge you.

Or just buy a valve key yourself and pump it up at tescos

For an easy life take it to a garage, you might be able to find that 2 tiny flat head screwdrivers will do it but it will probably be fiddly and you will just end up screamin at the wheel.... lol... And then havin to pump it up everyday as its not tight enough.

this has to be the smallest individaul part of a car. lol. but quite a discussion. pmsl. By a valve key they are handy to have. If some pillock causes you inconvenance with their car you can do the same back. Dont think you can get done for theft of air *!#%!@

hi

Bas / Tommy

you have gone off the subject of the thread. Also I would condone any such messing with anothers vehicle. A tire deflating on the highway or motorway is highly dangerous not only to the driver and passengers of the vehicle but to all the other people also using the road like YOU !

Al

sorry Al. I do not see it as anymore dangerouse than what ever they have done to me. But in defence if someone does not know, as soon as they pull away that they have a flat front driver side tyre. They most definantly should not be driving.

that would be the passenger side on my Yank as it LHD and at £120+ a tire I would be miffed.
