Hello all,

I was wondering if you could please advise on the following.

1) If the above car has a need for rear wheel alignment when the rear tyres are changed.
I had one garage advise that the alignment is out therefore the tyres are wearing on one side of each tyre.
When I got the tyres replaced at a different garage they stated that they have fixed rear axles therefore do not have a need for alignment, even though I wanted to pay for it.

2) If oil and filter changes are straightforward on these?
I have changed oil on Fiestas but understand the filter to be different on these. They are not the type where you fix a chain around and turn them off, I understand.
Also, does the sump plug remove easily.

Thanks very much for any help.

Will look at axle tomorrow think its solid. with these people jack them up on the trailing arms and bend them which intuen buggers the set up. oil filters are standard just longer and skinner. its an alloy sump so if its a nut its fiddler, if its a plig which I dont think it is their pretty simple.

Rear Toe Adjustment

Note:
The checking and subsequent adjustment of the rear toe setting should be carried out on a flat surface and in accordance with the manufacturers instructions for the particular wheel alignment equipment being used.

Final tightening of the rear suspension components should be carried out when the vehicle weight is on the road wheels.

Using suitable four wheel alignment equipment, check the toe setting.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to «Section 100-02».

µ 3. Loosen the rear lower arm cam nut (Wagon shown, 4-door and 5-door similar).

l Bounce the vehicle to make sure that the suspension is in its normal resting position.

µ 6. Adjust the toe setting (Wagon shown, 4-door and 5-door similar).
