My 94 Astra blower motor has packed in completely. My previous astra did the same and it was the connector on the resister which had come off. I checked mine and it was secure. Does anyone know which fuse it runs through. I have found one which has one contact melted but the fuse is intact.

I guess you have lost the fuse box flap/cover as the fan is pictured on this. Best way to look is just take a fuse out at a time and check them, they wont take long to check, if all are fine then it might be the motor itself.

Thanks for your reply. I spent four hours on it Sunday afternoon. The bower fuse was OK. I connected 12v directly to the motor and to my relief it was OK. I have read that the thermal fuse on the resister can easily blow but that was OK. When I removed the connector on the resister the terminals were rusted so I cleaned them and twisted them slightly to get a better connection and now its working on all four speeds.
The 10amp fuse that had melted on one terminal was one of the headlights. I switched it with another fuse but suspect the same might happen again, do you think there is a loose connection on the fuse.
