recon you got a faulty fan sensor, its linked to the stop light, the temp guage gets its info from a separate sensor, hece the temp appears normal.

don't know if your Citroen is the same as other PSA 1.9 XUD cars
my Pug has two sensors on the thermostat housing one for the fan and one for the fans/stop light. Dont mix up these wires (ie dont disconnet both at same time!). Check your wiring diag for colors or these wires.
