Hi there if anybody can help would be very grateful, recently brought an escort td with the endura-de engine in, it drives fine, except when you take the revs up to between 5 to 6000rpm the engine dies for about 3-4 secs makes a whineing noise then comes back to life. was told might have crack in fuel filter housing but have tried another one but still the same. thanks

This is a diesel ?

Diesels don't rev high, about 4500 rpm is tops.

I hate to say but Im suprised its still running if reving it that hard. I thought red line was 4600rpm. It must have had internal work and limiter removed
