The anti squeeze system on my C%'s front window has decided to think that there is always something bloccking the front window from staying closed. The window closes, then immediately open about 2 inches. I have checked that there is not grot in the runners, and I think that the problem is electrical. My Citroen agent has stated that it will cost about £275 to investigate!. Another mechanic has checked the mechanical works by removing the door panel - cant find any cause. Meanwhile, by pressing close and giving the button a second quick jab when the window is at the top of its travel, most times it will stay there, until the control is used again. Of course, the 'leave the top of the window open button produces the same symptoms. Other windows work OK. I think that it is an ecectrical probem. Microswithes/ sensors? Help, please. Many thanks. Bill

try running wd40 down the window runners as sometimes even a small amount of dirt can activate the anti pinch function if the motor is weak one thing you can try is resetting the window memory position. firstly put the window to the top then keep the button pressed for 10 seconds then send window to bottom and keep button pressed for 10 seconds then back to top and 10 seconds this will re memorize the top and bottom position for the motor. if this doesnt work you will need a new window regulator im afraid

You think you've got problems? For some reason the front passenger window on my C5 opens spontaneously when the windscreen wipers come on. It's quite amusing from the driver's point of view but the front seat passenger gets a faceful of rain! No matter how many times you send it back up, it comes down again! Why the window should be connected with the windscreen wipers no one knows! Maybe it's a French thing? Michael

Regarding strange effects of using other switches, etc in C5s; Well, I examioned the fuses etc inside and behind the glove compartment. One fell out and then nothing worked. I eventually found from whence it had become dislodged - not number or identification but it is behind the main row, and is 20amp. It obviously controls throughbrelays lots of items - including the central computer! I replaced it with difficulty, and found that all the info on the computer screen had been erased. I reset time, etc etc. THEN, I found that window and everything else was now working OK. It appears that the answer is to 'reset' the computer by disconnection and reconnection. Not mnay Citroen garages are awaer of this (or are just seeking some expensive 'investigation and rectification' work. Try it as a sortn of cure-allfor any electric related problems. Bill

Thanks for the tip about 'programming' the window by holding the button for 10 seconds etc (as described in the above post). I've tried it and it seems to have fixed the problem! My wife is more than pleased as I can use the windscreen wipers now without her getting a shower when her window comes down suddenly. Thanks again. Michael.
