We have aquired a Ford Scorpio, which was a non starter, the Loom was knackered, but we got that fixed. we charged up the battery, but whenever we connect the battery the alarm goes off.

From previous posts about Scorpios it says there there is probably problems with the immobiliser, we also cannot open the car unless we open the boot and climb through and then un lock the car from one of the passenger rear doors.

We changed a couple of the fuses, and Glow plugs are on order, there is electric going into the car as the windows etc work, but it just will not start!

Anyone able to help?

Sound like the key needs recoding to the car. Not sure if changin the loom will cause this to happen.

Surely you must have a barrel in the drivers door to open the car up rathe than climbing through the boot everytime???
