hi, whilst work on my '94 fiesta 1.1 and my righthead light was out of its place and one of the wires for the smaller bulb disconected. i have tried to solder it back but doesnt seem to stick, im not sure whether i just wasnt soldering properly or because i need to reconnect it with something different
any help would be much apreciated

th art in soldering is cleanliness make sure the wire to be soldered is very clean, make sure the soldering iron is also as clean when its hot wiping it on a damp piece of sponge does a good job melt some solder onto the iron and tin both joints (tinning means coating then with solder) then melt some solder onto the iron position both joints and touch with iron unto solder ments ,hold until cool . remember cleanliness at all times is the key are you using flux ? or solder that has flux in side or both

hey thanks for your help, i havent tried again today buti will at some point this week ill make sure i tin both joints before i do it. i my main concern was that i was burning al the plastic round it and so i didnt want to cause more damage.
i dont know what flux is?

its a cleaner for soldering (a bit acidy) if you use it wipe all the soldered joints with a rag damped with warm water when finished

oh right i dont think i use that i think the problem is that one joint is just very dirty and it is very hard to clean.. ill jut keep trying to clean it andthink up ways of fixing..
