Every time I unlock the car from the drivers side the alarm keeps going off can anyone help me solve this problem please?

did you have remote locking ? and now started using the key ?

yeah bas i was going to mention that as well, and ask what year is it and which mk1, 2, 3, 4

its a mk1 N reg not sure what year that is it hasnt got remote locking with a key fob just normal key operation

No never had remote locking its an N reg so quite old

n=95/96 mk2 im geussing but i would look for damaged wire or switch on lock mechanisms.
you could try opening door when interior light is off. also if still goes off cover the ultrasonics on pillar between front and rear doors.
the siren is located on drivers side in boot i believe this can be simply unplugged.

Hi just wanted to let you know how it went.
I tried what you said I opened the car from the passenger side turned the interior light off then locked it I opened it from drivers side and no problems so I turned the light back on locket it and the alarm seemed to work ok. I unlocked and locked it a few times to be sure it wasnt a fluke and now its working perfectly (god knows how that worked but it did ) Anyway i'd like to thank you very much for your help

Well glad its fixed. lol. I wasnt expecting that was more looking at bypassing the fault. still will remenber that one.

I thought it was fixed till today my son used it and said alarm went off when he opened the drivers door again its a pain in the butt hahaha
