car will not start

i cant start my car!! i have a vauxhall astra 1.6 sxi 02 reg, and i cant start it, i can put the key in, but it it will not go?! for some reason? any ideas?

have you got a spare key that you can try as the key you are using can decode itself, hence not starting the car. Does the engine sound like its turnin over faster than it usually does when it does start, then it will be cambelt failure, pull the cambelt cover away and check the belt tension, should be tight and not loose at all Nige

the car will not turn over when i put the key in but sterring wheel moves!! it feels like it is locked when i try to start it! i have used the other key and it does the same thing!
