hi. anyone changed a clutch on fiesta ghia 1.25 m4 1999 model.wots involved!my slave cylinders leaking, so no clutch engagement.may as well replace the whole clutch,anyone got a slave cylinder.thanks

I can't see why you would want to replace an entire clutch, when all you need is a slave cylinder. why go to the expense and effort if there's nothing wrong with the existing clutch?

ok this makes sense as its a bit of a job taking out a gearbox like drain the oil, drive shafts out suspension apart and so on.so once the gearbox is out then you can get to the slave cylinder cos its in the gearbox bell housing and its part of the clutch release bearing its hydraulic fed and some idiot at fords designed the slave cylinder and put it were it causes a lot of time and trouble to get too.so while the box is out may as well replace the clutch even if its half worn, just piece of mind really im sure you would agree. not looking forward to it, its a four hour job and its gonna take me bloody six cos im 20 stone and cant bend down as good as i used too.ha ha ill try and be quick but you never know with motors some things dont come apart as they should do .if you get my drift.its called rust.

I wasn't aware that ford had put the slave cylinder there. makes sense now! Muppets.
