Hi, I have a citroen dispatch non turbo diesel 'w' reg with 80k on clock, it is using lots of water but runs ok, ( no leaks ) have been told head gasket has gone, quoted £600 this sounds a lot !! could it be something else !!! have noticed oilhas risen up dipstick also is,that water in it, thanks,steve,

absolutly right

classic symptoms of a blown HG

yes 600 bit expencive, but have known for people to get even bigger quotes.

try ringing around, unless you trust and want to use this garage

Have the cam belt and water pump done at same time as the engine will be in bits to do head, so it will cost parts only.
