hi
from what you have said, do we assume that the rear is lifting up and down ?, therefore the pump is working and there is sufficient fluid in the system ?

There is some valve system involved on these, and if the above is correct then it points to these.

You are probably going to need the assistance of a garage with Citroen suspension knowledge to test this out for you.

also you should not be driving around with the car like this as the handeling will be all over the place to the point of being dangerous.

Al

How do you know if the pump is working or not. is there any chance it could be an electrical problem, does the pump have a fuse or anything, maybe that is hidden and could have blown. are the pumps expensive and no doubt it is yet another very expensive garage job.

does a motor run when you open the drivers door/switch on?
if not check the big fuses on the nearside next to the wing, under a cover, near the battery
assume you have checked the level,
you can get a used pump off a scrapper, but you need someone who really knows about citroen supensions to fit it.
the pressure used is very high and dangerous if not done properly.
the pump is under the cover on the *!#%!@ on the main chassis member, and this should run when you open the door.
if you hear a motor running, then it points to, low fluid or a leak in the system.
then you need proper assistance.
there are many non franchised citroen repairers, who could do the job.
try online for garages.
if you go to citroen, then have a fat wallet.
if you are anywhere near the fylde coast, i can recommend a good garage, very helpfull, also a scrappy in blackpool has a 2003 c5 for breaking, i got a part for mine from them.

cheers rodders
