peugeot vivacity kickstart gear/cog problems

peugeot vivacity kickstart gear/cog problems

took off kickstart cover to inspect belt, noticed 7 lever cog pinion slight rust and partialy broken on cogs and dogs slightly worn ,moon cog/pinion also worn. Kickstart previously sticking so turned 7 lever cog around an hey presto kickstart moving free again. Put kickstart assembly back on and speed would not get over 40, previosly got 45-47 on flat ground before....the help thats needed is because the cogs are slightly worn would this effect the speed?????gonna get parts in a month got haynes manual so happy days...any advice on this would be great though....
