I have a 2001 Mk3 Mondeo 2.0 Zetec TDDi. on the way back from holiday this week the the car started to emit *!#%!@ of black smoke everytime i accelerated. now there is no power in the car and it is producing thick black smoke pretty much everytime you press the accelerator. anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

By the sounds of it!you may need a new EGR valve!pretty common for these to play up.!

EGR valve is about 40 quid new!and about 40 to fit!more common on the new Vectras.
