Hi, i am recently the new owner of a c reg express auto sleeper and after a little driving its starts to kangeroo. I have serviced the viechle and other than this it is running well. I have come to the conclusion that it is fuel starvation. I have removed the lift pump and all looks well. The problem i have found after i got it is that the petrol tank is damaged quite badly. It looks like the van has been picked up by a fork lift truck. As a result the petrol gauge is not working due to the float i guess. I was wondering is there anybody who can either help with this problem or indeed help me source a used petrol tank that someone might have as a spare.
Many Thanks

Dougie

Hi - sounds like you have the same problem that happened to mine. On mine the tank pressurised due to a blocked breather. When you drove it the van would suck the petrol but as it couldn't breath the tank imploded (sucked itself in) In the process it damaged the fuel sender unit. This will explain the kangaroo effect as it tries to suck more fuel in.

You can buy tanks new - I got mine from beevers panels at Barnsley (google em) However due to poor exchange rate they are a lot dearer now than when I bought one. The sender unit was purchased from Peugeot (but this was 3 years ago now) Tank was a straight fit in and made a new breather for the tank - never had any issues since.

Next time it does it release the petrol cap and see if it hisses as if sucking air back into tank.
