I am thinking of buying this vehicle. Can anyone provide me with input for any problems that I may have to look at when purchasing the vehicle.

I know that on other Ford's the computer system sometimes plays up.

If anyone has any experience (good or bad) and can provide some obvious pointers what to look for and common faults I would be obliged.

Thanks

Thanks for that. I had spotted the above vehicle going for about £1500. In view of the number of adverse comments I have received re galaxy's I think I will be steering clear. - Only reason I was after another MPV, was because we have another grandchild on the way.

From other reviews I have done on MPV's from what I gather the Toyota Lucidia/Estima is a good buy. I have owned one previously, on a 'N' plate, I must of been unfortunate because the cylinder head went on it. I had it done and it went again. Other reviews on Toyota MPV, have all been positive. (thanks again for thoughts on the galaxy)

I have had two Galaxies, a P and an X now i have a 51. The first two were brilliant. The present one is a fully spec'd machine leather auto, and every extra ever placed on them. Just spent £3700 on the gearbox, and the ECU which caused the gearbox to blow in the first place. I will stay away from these top spec galaxies and infact galaxies built after y reg. they can be too problematical. The ECU had to be specially programmed 200 miles away after fitting to make the new gearbox change gear properly. A very luxurious pile of ****

toyota mpv do like to do head gaskets. might be worth getting it done before it goes if not been replaced or at least bank on it going. but far better than ford
