i have been told that you can not get bigend or small end shells for a 02 mondeo 1800 is this true can anyone help

I think the haynes manual tells you that you cannot obtain spares for the bottom end of these engines, but i have since heard that this is not now the case, if you go to http://www.fordmondeo.org and trawl through the forums for mk3 mondeos someone will have the answer.
