I have a 2001 Focus 2.0 Zetec Estate and I need to check the Air Con gas pressure and top up if neccessary.

I think the place to look is under the *!#%!@ wing.

My question is, can I remove the under wing plastic liner without removing the wheel ? I know a friendly air con engineer at work but I don't have the time to mess about removing the wheel in the office car park !

Thanks
Paulreg

hi

must be under the bonnet, I've not yet come accross any EU car with the a/c gas points anywhere else.
If the guy is used to doing a/c re-gases, he should have done a focus by now, so i'd leave it for him to find them.

Al

Hi Guys, thanks for the posts.
I was looking at this
http://www.focushacks.com/?modid=85&h......20and%20service
although I realise this is a US site and one of the photos shows the air on with the blower on speed 4 which is not possible in UK cars, I can see the cannister if I look under the front *!#%!@ wing from the bumper end.
Thanks

Update in case anyone wants to know for the future.
The Air Con pressure/top up valve is under the drivers wing.
You can remove the 3 screws holding the underwing plastic insert without removing the wheel by turning the wheel to full lock.
My system is at the correct pressure. It seems that the blower switch my be the problem as it has just failed and now only works on setting 4. This seems to be common on the Focus.
I will buy a new resister pack and fit that.
