Thought Id start a new thread rather than drag out my other 1, nobody wants to read a million words on 1 page. Got a 1999 ford escort 1.6i finesse zetec, when started from cold the revs go up and down between 500 and 1500 rpm, when warm it's nice and smooth but sometimes revs stick at 1500 for a little while, it all revs up fine when hot or cold, no smoke, was wondering if it's a dirty sensor, and if so where is it?? don't know much about fords, this is my 4th ford but never had to do much work on the other 3, thanks.

The best I can say as the regulars on here seem quite is follow the throttle cable at the end it connects to linkage in engine bay. operate thottle under bonnet and watch where the last part of linkage settles on de acceleration and the ICV will be their. somtime just a good squirt of wd or simular will sort others it has to be removed cleaned (carb cleaner) and refitted.
