for the last 4 years we have been going 2 Mexico & Cuba it is absolutly beautiful and your money goes a hell of a lot further if you decide on Cuba i recommend the Iberostar Varradero its only a small Hotel but its 24hr all inclusive and the people are out of this world Mexico i recommend another Iberostar hotel the complex is enormous it has 5 hotels going up in luxury the basic hotel(and i use the word basic very loosely)is called the iberostar Del mar the place is drop dead gorgeous and you will want for nothing again its 24 hr all inclusive we have been twice and the only things we found you pay for apart from souvenirs were telephone calls & jet skis. mind you once you have been you will never go back to the Mediterranean....ps if you go fly with Thompsons or First Choice ENJOY
I hope this is helpful to you. If you go on the internet try "villas to let in ......, Spain". Hoseasons have some nice ones but I think that dealing with the owner direct is better. This is myself this last February beside the beach at Guardarmar. There is a good website - http://www.abritinspain.com It is run by a man (I think he comes from Surrey) who now lives in Guardarmar. I had a great holiday in Mexico 2yrs ago when I was lucky to be given use of a relative's time share apartment. I typically spent my time 'downtown' absorbing the culture and avoiding the resort and I had a great time. I am really hoping to find a cheap base for the winter months and thought Spain would suit me. my favourite spanish location is the Jalon valley region and that might actually be my favourite place in europe and I agree, the spanish people are wonderful. I will keep trawling the net in my search. I just might drop lucky and find a finca in Alkalali.
Florida USA is nice that time of year, and their are a lot of villa rental deals to be had. You may however find a car essential. The Canaries had a bad summer because of the Euro - Pound rates and again lots of deals to be had. Al
We've just joined Preloved, and have a 2-bed apartment in Vera Playa, Almeria which we rent out (just posted an ad today!) We offer reduced rates for long-term rental (about 60% of our weekly rate). You don't make it clear whether your plans would include working while out there, or simply chilling out - or should that be warming out? As with most 'holiday' rental properties our property is not within easy walking distance of jobs etc - the nearest town is Vera, about 4km away, although there is a bus service which also serves Mojacar. I am hoping to find somewhere more central for this trip as I am travelling alone and will enjoy the option of 'people'. I love to sit with a coffee or a glass of something and watch the world go by and I think I might feel a bit isolated in your lovely property. thanks for suggesting it though and I hope you enjoy your own stays there.
