Freelander Turbo problems???

Freelander Turbo problems???

Hi, I am new to this forum. I have just driven my 2001 Freelander TD4 home and something went pop! It then lost power (not completely, only when I put my foot down) and there was smoke coming out the exhaust. Would I be right in thinking that the Turbo has just blown, or can somebody tell me not to worry, it's just something simple!!!!!

hi emma sounds like a turbo hose has split, very common, not too expensive to put right, get a garage to check it out for you , the sooner you get it repaired the better

Emma -may be worth getting all of the hoses looked at/replaced. I think there are 3 of these, I have had 2 replaced separately each time the same problem as you i.e no power+smoke etc, in hindsight I would of had all replaced at once as the shelf life for these must be about the same. Good luck !
