Hi all, if youv'e read my other posts you will know that ive been having problems with my brakes, thanks to all who replied i think it must be the servo, i had a look in the haynes manual and it sais to check the non return valve on the front of the servo before assuming its the servo itself, It sais to take it out and blow down each end to check its not faulty, I havent done this yet but I had a look and there is a rubber bung/washer in between it that seems very warn and cracked, could this be causing the problem?? for anyone who doesnt know its a 1999 ford escort 1.6 finesse, thanks.

I'm not quite sure of your description, but I came across a servo fault that was actuall down to a worn hose.

The internal wall of the hose to the servo had been rubbing on the connection and had created a 'ball of rubber' from the hose inner wall.

This acted like a valve.

Solution cut an inch off the end of the hose and refit.

Quick and cheap, however the owner had already fitted two replacement servos prior to this without curing the problem!
