Ok I said I would never go camping ever since being with hubby (nearly 13 yrs) but afew wks ago I thought to myself am I just being boring so said to hubby about giving it ago I have never done it be4 & hubby only been camping when he was in his teens on a hot summers day afew yrs ago so we decided to give it ago. We spent money on a tent & afew things to start us off camping hubby even made a little sink out of wood with a cupboard we didnt have everything but it was enough to get us started. We booked a night at kelling heath at the beginning of sept we booked 2 nights there but only stayed for one! When we got there it took 3 hrs to put tent up cos neither of us new how to set it up then when we got set up it rained so it was wet & horrible outside at night it was freezing cold & so damp neither of us could sleep cos it was so cold by the time 5 o clock came in the morning we were both up getting dressed by 7 we had loaded up the car & ready to come home. We didnt enjoy it at all everyone kept saying about camping but it wasn't for us we enjoy our creature comforts too much. Our tent we are now getting rid of & the other stuff we sold to 2nd hand shop on the way home from that camping trip!So come on how many of you have done the same brought tents & camping stuff to find out you don't enjoy it?

me for one, i hated it and never again its not for me.But some people really enjoy it ,everybody each to their own.it never stopped raining, the tent was spose to be waterproof, not!! i was cold ,wet, uncomfortable. i hated the food we cooked on the stove stank of smoke, it was like a mud bath.my clothes were filthy and all i did was moan, shed tears and wanted to get home for a bath, a hot drink, a change of clothes and a decent bed.when my daughter went to the v fest last year in stafford it also rained, she stook it one day and then i got a call, an emergency to her ,crying down the phone to come and pick her up.we left the tent their so did others.it was 1am in the morning and i was going up the m6 to pick her and her mates up!!

oh dear that sounds awful I just don't get why ppl find it fun I felt the same as u my clothes were dirty just after a few hrs i didnt really feel clean having a strip wash in the tent i know u can use the shower blocks but its not the same as using your own even going in there to clean my teeth u can see where everyone has been using the sinks & ppl walking in & out with thier shoes own kinda looses the appeal for a shower. We had air bed & even took a duvet & we were freezing & this was only a few wks ago i hate to think what its like in the colder months also found it was a nightmare keeping the floor clean with bits blowing in from outside & when it was raining it was awkward tring to take shoes off at the door! No never again for us oh & another thing even though the tents were spaced out the person in the tent next to us kept snoring all night then about 1 in the morning a kid kept crying for hrs in another tent I felt like finding the tent the kid was in & saying look I don't like it either but i'm not crying lol it was driving me mad. I must say for those who do camp they are brave especially when they got kids as well we couldnt do it.

We only decided to camp in the last cpl of months we tried to book the camp site for my hubbys bday but cos it fell on a bank holiday the 1st of sept was the closest we could get. I think though if camping is just for the summer months its not worth bothering about cos this yr we didnt have much of a summer it rained most days & the money u spend out on all the camping stuff just to use it when its really hot is a waste to be honest especially the uks weather.

Love it , infact in our mid fifties , early sixties , after our old touring caravan finally giving up the ghost we bought a tent , not a big one , used it for the first time this year , plus Sammy our labby x and had a great time , we went away on the first Wimbledon monday in 30 deg temps too ! we came home , went to our brand new go outdoors store and bought a huge ten berth tent for a bargain opening offer of £189 (; we have had touring caravans on and off for years though , it's a brilliant life especially for children , our daughter was 18 months old when we got our first van in 1979 , and we took our seconfd daughter away when she was just six weeks old , they loved the life (; and made loads of friends everywhere too , so mum and dad get to relax , pic taken at Kessingland Caravan and Camping club site Lowestoft , right next to the wildlife park , a visiting chippy on friday nights , brilliant toilets and showers , and a huge bootsale a few mins down the lane on Sundays , with the beach only about five/ten mins away too .

We used to go camping almost every weekend on scooter rallies, the atmosphere was great. We had a small 3 man tent which we would take on the back of the scooter along with everything else. We even got married on a scooter rally and camped but we did have a small caravan then and used that. We had to get rid of the caravan a few years ago and earlier this year we bought a trailer tent from here, we booked a couple of nights at a camp site but only stuck it out one night, we had two dogs with us and it was a nightmare. We had to keep the dogs on the leads or tied up but when they were tied up they kept getting their leads wrapped round the guy ropes. There was nowhere to let the dogs have a run so they were bored and whingy, we spent a lot of the time just walking round with the dogs on their leads just to stop them getting bored. We sold the trailer tent and got another little touring caravan, we went to Wales for a week in august and had a great time.
