Smell in car when accellerating

as you say a 'seawater' smell I would not suspect an electrical prob that would be a burning smell. Lift out your front car mats and feel the carpet in the front foot wells Now you have to trace where it is coming from. If the engine isnt using any water then I would suspect rain water ingress. Al
