Hi Chris We have a Elldiss Autoquest 320 1994 and the main electrics box is in the wardrobe at the bottom under the (floor) this has a switch that is lit up when the charge is working and by switching it off the m/home is left with just main electric to the van. If this is wrong I would like to be corrected by anyone. Hope this is the same on your van. I admit to not knowing how long you can leave a motorhome connected with the charge on. I tend to just have electric pluged in all winter but not on charge. regards Chris

hi,
My 1988 talbot Autosleeper I leave 'on charge' connected to the mains virtually all the time, i check the electrolyte levels regularly, but they (vehicle and habitation batteries) seldom need topping up, and have lasted ok for over two years. Even though 'old' by todays electronic standards the charger must be an 'Intellegent' type that senses when they are fully charged and shuts down, only switching back on when the battery voltage drops. This is backed up by the red LED that comes on when charging is taking place (turn on a couple of lights and the pump and the red LED lights up,then goes out within 5 minutes of them being switched off). NOT all Autosleepers of that age were fitted with a second (habitation) battery. Hope that helps ? Ray
